Teacher Appreciation

I didn’t realize how many teachers spend money out of their own pockets to stock their classrooms. I saw @wittyotter post something about it and it made me want to help too.

For the last few days, I have been asking those who are teachers to send me an email with their amazon wish lists for their classrooms. These individuals are responsible for teaching our youth and spend countless hours doing so. I don’t think they get enough credit for all their hard work.

I’m hoping that my community can help get some items off of their lists. I’m sure that no matter how big or small, these teachers will be so grateful for any help!

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO CHOOSES TO HELP! Please feel free to share this blog post so that more people will see it and hopefully fulfill these wishlists.

Since I was a little girl, I’ve always wanted to be a kindergarten teacher. My kindergarten teacher inspired me to become the best teacher I can be and to open my arms and heart to welcome all students. In my classroom we have a lot of fun sprinkled with some learning (okay, okay. a lot of learning).

My kindergartners in northwest Wisconsin would be forever grateful for any donations! Thank you, thank you, thank you!)

I teach a variety of subjects from ELA to Sciences, to Maths as well as work with ESL students k-12. I love what I do and the sweet students I work with each year. I have always strived for an encouraging and inviting classroom where my kiddos can feel safe and value learning.)

  • https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/3BXENQ4Y5AN28?ref_=wl_share (I am a sixth grade English teacher! I love working with students as they start to become themselves and try on all the hats! I graduated with K-8 elementary education, and k-12 reading degrees. Then I spent five years in early childhood teaching, then admin at Head Start. It was there that my love for children's literature became a full on affair. Now in middle school, children's books have become even more precious to me as I see how they can open doors for children during so much change and challenges in their first year of middle school.

I love to use children's literature to spark though, discussion and encourage empathy. Last year I had incredible discussions with my sixth graders and watched them grow throughout the year and have books as a starting point to discuss real life.

I teach in Montana, where we have very little diversity and therefore exposure through literature is essential. Unfortunately, this is not within the budget so I am trying hard to supplement my classroom with quality books, specifically written by and about people of color, and multiple belief systems.)

I was in one school district the first twelve years, but decided before the pandemic that I needed to find something better for my mental health for myself and my family. I LOVE my new school and I’m enjoying being part of the community.

I love teaching kindergarten because for so many kids, it’s their first exposure to school and I get to set them up for life of loving learning and reading. I also teach my students as much sign language as I can as it is a passion of mine.

Teaching kindergarten is just the best.)

My classroom always has a happy hum of students interacting and learning together through hands on activities. I grew up in a family of teachers and I love sharing my love of learning with my students.

Kindergarten is a year of learning academically and socially. One way to help enhance their social learning is through read-alouds. The books on my wish list will be a starting point for many conversations as my students learn and grow.

Thank you for supporting my classroom! I love teaching Kindergarten!)

  • https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/P8XVK0KKDDZ7?ref_=wl_share (Hello! My name is Stacey and I'm entering my third year of teaching kindergarten. I love this age group because these kids are so bright and inquisitive, and love to learn about any and everything. I specifically love teaching kids how to read as it provides so many 'lightbulb' moments and sets kids up for a bright future. No pun intended! I love doing room transformations and I have a magical "Book Fairy" who visits our room, all with the intention of getting kids excited about learning and coming to school.

If you have a moment, please take a look at our classroom wishlist! It's filled with books and activities that will help create plenty of learning opportunities and experiences for my students. Thank you!)

We each have a homeroom class and swap halfway through the day-So essentially I have two classes every year! Developing a love of reading/learning is my passion! One way I foster this is by doing themed units that involve room transformations. This way I am engaging the students in critical academic content and creating life-long memories!)

  • https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/12BTNFU7RJJF1?ref_=wl_share (Not sure if my teacher list fits what your posting about since I am a daycare teacher. But I run a teen mom nursery in our local high school and these moms are usually not able to afford much for their kids and the program is run by a grant but it leaves little money for extra things for us. I would love to have more age appropriate art supplies and toys for these kiddos so their moms can learn to interact with them more! If you're willing to put my list up as well this is my Amazon one I have out for my friends and family who help me out too!)

  • https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/14BLE7BYKNDX5?ref_=wl_share (I am not a classroom teacher, I do more of small groups from 5-8th grade. I help students whose 2nd language is English achieve educational goals. This year my role is a hit different because I’ll be working with English learners as well as diverse learners (special needs). The school that I work for is in a low income neighborhood in Chicago. Our students struggle to get some school materials, so me asking them to buy extra material for when we meet is hard. I want my new groups to have a great experience and reach their personal goals! If you can please share my list I will be very thankful.)
