Here lies the worst photo we’ve ever taken ... but also my favorite.

29 years ago today, my best friend was born. I didn’t know it then, but I definitely know now how grateful I am for it.

When I first saw this photo, my first reaction was to delete it - I mean, look at us - we are the world’s ugliest criers. But I look at it now, and I’m obsessed with it. The raw emotion of it. The fact that I got to experience this moment with you, the moment where we both realized I am now a mom.

I am so lucky that I get to experience life with you.
That I have you by my side throughout my motherhood journey.
That you love my kids just as much as I love them. Watching you with them makes my heart smile every single time.

I am so beyond grateful for you and everything you do for me.

I know that I didn’t get to choose you as my sister - but given the chance, I would still choose you every single time.

I love you, my little. I hope you have the happiest of birthdays. I’m so happy you were born.
