Measuring Productivity Postpartum

Told myself I was going to be productive today... it took me about 45 minutes to talk myself into the fact that this was being productive these days. That me sitting and enjoying these fleeting moments is the most productive thing I can do right now. Because that’s what they are - fleeting. You blink and they’re bigger, older and more independent. They no longer need you every second of the day. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So for now, I’m measuring my level of productivity by my level of presence.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The laundry can wait. The house can stay a mess. And the dishes can stay in the sink.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There is so much pressure on moms to do it all... let’s normalize being present as being productive enough for the day.
